Yoga Teachers

Teacher Aom

Hello, all those interested in Yoga

First of all, I would like to introduce myself.

My name is Chulinda Prasertsri; my nickname is Aom.  I’m a Yoga teacher from Thailand.  I have a Master’s Degree in Communication of Arts, Major in Mass Media.  I was a civil servant and worked for various companies.

Why did I become a Yoga Instructor?  In 2003, I had a chance to practice yoga for my first time at Satien Thammasathan, where I practiced meditation and Yoga with Nun Sansanee.  After that, I became really fascinated by Yoga and kept practicing through VCD Yoga.  At that time, I was very happy practicing various postures, learning breath awareness (anapanasati), and attempting mindful consciousness.

During this time, I suffered from serious neck and back aches and crippling migraines; sometimes, I could not get up from bed.  I felt very weak and lacked energy.  In order to function, I made daily visits to a chiropractor, who “arranged” my bones.  This treatment alleviated my symptoms somewhat, but did not cure the underlying problem.  My symptoms still remained.

After a year or so, it became clear that chiropractic treatment was not the solution.  I thought perhaps that Yoga could help.  I decided to learn to teach Yoga at Sunee Yoga School in Bangkok in order to treat myself.  I learned much from Teacher Sunee.  And Yoga did help!  With regular practice of Yoga and health care, my symptoms largely vanished.

During study, I practiced by myself and taught Yoga as well.  After that teaching experience, I wanted to learn more.  I decided to take the Yoga teacher training course (TTC) at Yoga Vidya Gurukul School in Nasik, India.  Then I came back to teach Yoga in Bangkok, where  I met students who had health problems similar to mine.   I then returned to India for the Advanced Course in the same ashram.

Since then, I traveled to India many times.   I studied in the TTC at Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh, as well as the  TTC in Ashtanga Vinyasa at Mysore Mandala.  I travelled to various Ashrams across India to learn different styles of Yoga.   From Victor Ching at Yoga in Asia, I learned to teach Yin Yoga.  I also learned traditional thai massage, foot reflexology and Thai Medical Massage from Wat Pho, plus Indian Head Massage.

I want to share all my knowledge and experience and the good thing that is Yoga to those who love to take care of their health.  Please feel free to ask me for more details about Yoga.  Welcome to you all!
